Indigenous IP Platform · Aotearoa New Zealand

From the
land. Into
the world.

The global platform helping indigenous communities convert their most sacred natural assets — plants, honey, resin, bark, seed, root — into defensible intellectual property, premium global brands, and generational wealth.

The problem

Commodity pricing is a failure
of frameworks, not of nature.

The most bioactive natural assets on earth are in the hands of indigenous communities. The IP frameworks to value them are not.

What's happening right now

Sacred assets. Commodity prices.

Kakadu plum holds the world's highest concentration of Vitamin C. Stingless Amazonian honey has been used medicinally for centuries. Wild rice is sacred to the Anishinaabe people of North America. All of them are priced as raw materials. None of them have to be.

The cautionary tale

The rooibos story.

The San people of South Africa steward one of the world's most bioactive plants. The rooibos industry grew to $350M before they had legal IP protections. In 2019, they finally won the right to benefit-share. Indigenova was built for before that happens to you.

Why it persists

Not a resource problem. A framework problem.

The science exists. The global premium market exists. The demand for indigenous-origin, provenance-verified, bioactive-backed products is growing faster than any other segment. What's missing is the validation standard, the IP architecture, and the commercialisation model.

What changes with Indigenova

The frameworks now exist. And they work.

Every framework in the Indigenova platform was proven in practice by Mānuka Performance — an indigenous-led, science-backed company from Aotearoa New Zealand that built a proprietary validation standard, a multi-market export strategy, and a B2B ingredient licensing model from commodity honey.

"The land has always held its value. The question was never what the asset was worth. The question was who owned the framework that proved it."

Global parallels

If your asset is here,
this platform was built for you.

The honey-to-IP framework is portable. Every example below represents a community with a bioactive-rich asset at commodity price and an Indigenova framework waiting to be applied.

Aotearoa New Zealand · The pilot
Māori
Mānuka, Kānuka, Rewarewa, Kāmahi honey
The live proof-of-concept. Polyphenol science → PolySure™ standard → premium CPG + B2B export. Built with Kaitiakitanga intact. Every chapter is grounded here.
Australia
Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander
Kakadu plum · Lemon myrtle · Wattleseed · Jarrah honey
World's highest Vitamin C in kakadu plum. Near-zero IP capture. Identical commercialisation gap to mānuka honey pre-PolySure™.
Amazon Basin
Amazonian Peoples
Açaí · Copaíba resin · Stingless bee honey (Meliponini)
Stingless honey used medicinally for centuries. Copaíba resin — powerful anti-inflammatory. Both exported at commodity with zero IP protections.
Sub-Saharan Africa
San, Zulu, Maasai & others
Rooibos · Baobab · Marula · African wild honey
Rooibos became a $350M industry before San IP protections. This is the pattern Indigenova was designed to prevent from repeating.
Pacific Islands
Fijian, Samoan, Hawaiian Peoples
Noni · Kava · Pacific honey · Morinda citrifolia
Kava exported with no provenance tracking or quality standard. Same structural gap as non-mānuka honey pre-PolySure™.
North America
First Nations, Métis, Native American
Wild rice (manoomin) · Pine bark extract · Indigenous botanicals
Wild rice is sacred to Anishinaabe peoples — priced as commodity grain. Bioactive profile largely undocumented commercially. Identical position to mānuka honey in 2010.

The proof of concept

This isn't theory.
It was built in Aotearoa.

Every framework in this platform was proven in practice by Mānuka Performance — before Indigenova existed as a name.

The PolySure™ story
In 2024, Mānuka Performance completed the analysis of 37 polyphenols across 100+ New Zealand honey varieties. The result was PolySure™ — a UV-SPE validated, ISO-17025 compliant proprietary quality standard that tracks 7 key bioactive compounds across every batch. It proved that kānuka, rewarewa, and kāmahi honey were as bioactively rich as mānuka — and gave them a commercial framework to prove it. That framework is now the template for Chapter 2 of this playbook.
Commercial validation
Mānuka Performance products — LiquidFuel, LiquidGold, and GI-PRO — are not honey in a jar. They are high-value-add nutraceutical formats: energy gels in pouches, probiotic snaps, gut microbiome sachets, and athlete recovery formulations. The NZ native honey — validated by PolySure™ — is the bioactive carrier matrix that transports and enhances every active ingredient: probiotics, gut microbiome formulations, Vitamin C, and health-specific actives. HASTA batch-tested, UMF certified, FDA GRAS compliant, and Halal certified. Distributed on Amazon USA via Channel Key, supplied to All Blacks Sevens and Black Ferns, and carried by ambassadors including Logan Tom (USA Volleyball Olympic Hall of Fame). The playbook is the system that built this. Portability was designed in from the start.

The founder

Built by someone who
did it first.

"I built Mānuka Performance to prove that an indigenous-led, science-backed company from Aotearoa could compete on the world stage without compromising the values that make it worth building. Indigenova is what I wish had existed when I started."

Tristan Vine
Founder & CEO · Mānuka Performance Ltd · Indigenova

Tristan Vine is the founder and operator of Mānuka Performance Ltd — a New Zealand-based advanced nutraceutical company that has built PolySure™ (a proprietary polyphenol validation standard), commercialised multiple export product lines across the USA, South Korea, China, and the Middle East, and established R&D partnerships with AgResearch and the Bioeconomy Science Institute.

The company operates with Māori values at its commercial core — Kaitiakitanga, Manaakitanga, Whanaungatanga — and is the live pilot case study behind the Indigenova framework. The playbook is not theoretical. It is the documented system of a company that is running it right now.
